Crazed Cats

Lately Twiggy has taken to sleeping in my office chair. She sleeps there all the time. She has me trained to use Grampy’s chair when he isn’t home. She doesn’t like his chair. She hates it when we both want a chair but will (eventually) go and sit on the blanket on my desk. Sometimes she will lay there and stretch. She will rollover and look to see if you are watching. She is very cute. But should I get up and go to get a cup of coffee she will be in my chair by the time I get back. Sometimes we will be sitting here working and Twiggy will walk in and sit down in the middle of the office and cry and stare up at us. You can just tell she wants one of us — preferably me — to give up their chair.

It used to be I could count on Twiggy to come and sleep on the bed with us at night but lately she just wants my chair. If nothing else you can usually count on her to come sleep on the bed after our granddaughter has spent the night but she hasn’t even been doing that! So the other night when I woke up and heard Twiggy meowing loudly I was thrilled when after a few minutes she jumped up on the bed and stayed there the rest of the night. I got up in such a wonderful mood — feeling the Twiggy love.

I headed for the kitchen to feed them and to start the coffee. I stopped by the office to turn on my computer only to find where Twiggy had purged all over my chair. This was the real reason she made all that noise in the middle of the night. She wanted me to get up and fix the chair! Since I didn’t get up she gave in and slept with us but just for that one night.

She’s gone back to sleeping in the chair ever since!
