Is Uri going bald?

Uri, who was named after the Upper Respiratory Infection that he had when the Kids got him began to lose some of his beautiful black fur last week. Just some little patches at first but by yesterday Uri looked like he had the Mange or something equally as awful. Jenna, being the wonderful Cat Mom that she is scooped him up and took him to the Vets. With 4 cats and 2 dogs she is on a first name basis with everybody at the Vets so while they were very busy they suggested she drop him off and the doctor could see him in between other patients.

A couple of hours later Jenna gets a call from the Vet Tech — did Uri just get a new collar? Well in fact he had. The cats are great about escaping and losing their collars but we are equally good at always replacing them immediately! Jenna was careful to make sure she got a reflective collar as black cats really need them! They didn’t have the collars that she usually buys so she got a plastic one that was very reflective and guess what? Uri is allergic to his new collar. Apparently this is not uncommon but in all of our cat experiences this had never happened before!

Uri got an allergy shot and a new collar. He will make a complete recovery and all of his bald spots will soon disappear. He will once again be a very handsome boy!

Uri loves to play in the garden

This photo was taken before his allergic reaction. That is also Uri in our header when he was a baby.

Oh, poor Uri! He’s so lucky to have such a good cat Mom who takes good care of him. I hope he is feeling better now. Give him a hug from me! xoxo
