Fiona is definitely Mark’s cat. She not only loves him, she adores him! I am graced with a rub against my leg as she’s passing by me, but she rarely sits on my lap – and if she does it’s only for a minute or so. Mark won’t let her snuggle with him in bed, so she does sleep on my side of the bed – usually tucked cozily right between my knees so it’s impossible for me to turn over.
There is one time though that I can always count on her to give me her undivided attention – when I am sitting on the toilet! If she hears the toilet lid bump against the tank, she literally runs for the bathroom! (And if all I’m doing is cleaning the toilet and she comes running in, you can see the disgust on her face that it was a false alarm!!) Mark won’t let her sit on his lap, but I can’t tell her no. .. probably because I don’t get many opportunities for attention from her. She hops on my lap and begins to purr and rub against me. She can’t lay still – she has to keep turning around and around, constantly rubbing her head against my hands or my chest or face. And she drools like crazy .. on the floor, on my feet, my hands, and my pant legs. She is the only cat we have that drools like this. I’ve heard it’s a sign that they are very happy. I don’t know what the attraction of me sitting on the toilet seat is for her, but I feel very honored.
