I have always loved orange tiger cats and wanted to have one in the worst way. A few years ago a friend had a surprise litter of kittens. One was an adorable little orange tiger boy. My husband, who is allergic to cats, could see I’d fallen in love instantly and we were on our way to the store to buy a litter box and kitten food. My husband and I both ride motorcycles – Harley Davidson’s. So naming our new kitty Harley was a no brainer. And he has a purr that sounds like the rumble of a Harley and he ate like a hog.
Next to being curled up on my lap, Harley’s greatest love is running water. There’s been a time or two that I thought he was going to get in the shower with me! Occasionally I find him sitting in the tub looking at the faucet as if he could will it to turn on. He loves drinking from any faucet. He will sit on the bathroom vanity meowing for someone to come in and turn on the water for him. This goes on for several minutes until finally he’s exhausted. Then he curls up on the floor with his front feet tucked neatly under him, and closes his eyes. We call that kitty zen.
Harley is afraid of thunder and lightning and will hide under the bed to get away from it. He will and has eaten most everything, including Easter grass, rubber, corn husks! Then he gets sick all over everything. He tries very hard to time these events for when I am getting ready for company.
Harley has been a very loving and affectionate boy since the day we brought him home. He just turned 4 years old and still loves cuddling as much as when he was a baby. He’s a sweet boy and we love him dearly. I promise to share more of his stories with you so come back soon!
